At first glance, navigating around DNA can be cumbersome. Not to worry! Scout provides you a few capabilities to improve the general experience of scrolling through your data within DNA. This will allow you to comb through your data to allow you to review the dataset that is important for your analysis!
In this article we will cover:
Filtering your View
Filtering your data within your Bid Analysis is extremely helpful when dealing with large Worksheets that include several Suppliers. We advise filtering your current view to ensure you are seeing data that you need to see.
In DNA, you can access our filter options by clicking the consolidated "Scenarios/Suppliers/Columns" tab. We group each datapoint within each grouped column like Reference Columns, Bid Competitiveness, etc.
There may be instances where you need to filter your view based on Supplier. In Scout DNA, we offer an additional filter that allows you to define visibility around each Supplier in your Event. You can access this by clicking on arrow next to Suppliers:
Also in the Supplier section, you'll have the ability to request an update from all Suppliers in your Event by clicking on Request Update.
Grid Library Capabilities
You have the ability to Pin Column(s), Autosize Column(s), or Reset Columns:
- Pin Columns: Pin any column to the left or right side of the screen.
- Autosize Columns: Resize columns quickly by using the column menu below! You can also double click on a column header separator.
Note: This will size the column based on the width of the largest cell (header is included). Also, if you have not scrolled across the screen, any columns that have not yet loaded will not be resized.
You can also set up complex numeric filters within your columns:
If you need to multi-sort your columns, you can use Shift + click (worksheet column headers):
Note: If you have filters set up on any columns, any hidden data will not be included in the export, and if you have any pinned columns, they will be on the left (or right) side of the file when exported, but will not be pinned.
If you need to do quick math, you can select multiple cells:
Exporting your Analysis to Excel
Once you have completed your analysis in Scout, you may bring that data directly into an Excel file for offline viewing or sharing.
Clicking the "Export" button on the left-side toolbar will prompt a download of your Analysis:
Note: If you have filters set up on any columns, any hidden data will not be included in the export, and if you have any pinned columns, they will be on the left (or right) side of the file when exported, but will not be pinned.
