Home Page
When working through multiple bids, projects or contracts, it can be easy to lose track of what’s due and what’s coming up. That’s why we’ve launched our new feature, Home Page.
Home Page is the new landing page option for companies that want to view tasks from across the Scout platform. This includes both tasks directly assigned to the user or tasks they are stakeholders of. These tasks are managed via two different widgets My Tasks and Tasks I Follow. Users will still have the option to set Project Pipeline or Events as their landing page and regardless of which option users select, both Pipeline and Event pages will continue to be available directly under Navigate.
In this article we will cover:
View Relevant Tasks
When feature flags are turned on, all users within that company will have access to the new Home Page. It is accessible via the Home link in the top navigation panel.
This page holds the two widgets talked about earlier, My Tasks and Tasks I Follow.
My Tasks
The My Tasks widget includes tasks explicitly assigned to the logged in user. At this time only Milestones will be supported as tasks. Each milestone that appears here will have the same user as the assignee and must have a due date. The display is divided into two sections, Upcoming and Completed tasks.
- Upcoming shows not completed tasks.
- Completed shows completed tasks. **Tasks completed beyond the past 30 days will not show.
To mark a task as completed, simply click on the Mark Completed button in green and this will not only complete the task, but move it to the Completed section. Additionally, users can determine that a task is not relevant to them and dismiss the task card by clicking the X on the right side of the card.
Please note: Dismissing a task does not change the state of the task. For example, an incomplete task will remain incomplete after being dismissed, but the task will no longer show up on the user’s list.
Tasks I Follow
This widget includes tasks that are not assigned to the logged in user, but is part of a project or contract where the user is a stakeholder. In this initial release, only Milestones are supported as tasks. It’s also important to note that Tasks that appear, may or may not have an assignee. This section is also divided into two sections: Upcoming and Completed tasks.
- “Upcoming” shows not completed tasks.
- “Completed” shows completed tasks. Tasks completed beyond the past 30 days will not show.
To mark a task as completed, simply click on the Mark Completed button in green and this will not only complete the task, but move it to the Completed section. Additionally Users can determine that a task is not relevant to them and dismiss the task card by clicking the X on the right side of the card.
Please note: Dismissing a task does not change the state of the task. For example, an incomplete task will remain incomplete after being dismissed, but the task will no longer show up on the user’s list.
Additional Features
Each widget will include the following features:
Dismiss:
- Users can determine that a task is not relevant to them and dismiss the task card by clicking the X on the right side of the card.
- Dismissing a task does not change the state of the task. For example, an incomplete task will remain incomplete after being dismissed, but the task will no longer show up on the user’s list.
Sort/Filter:
- Both widgets will allow users to filter and sort based on the user’s preference.
- To filter these tasks users will click on the tab marked with a funnel to sort their preferences.
- Users will have the option of filtering by specific calendar ranges or by preset date ranges (i.e. 30 days, 60 days, etc)
Undo:
- Users can undo their action if they mistakenly dismissed or completed a task.
- After the Dismiss or Completed actions are taken, a popup will appear for a few seconds to undo.
Create Projects/Contracts
- Users (with correct permissions) can create projects and contracts right from the Homepage.
